FRITCH, TX - The Croatian Philatelic Society (CSP) has announced the striking of its first official pin. Eck Spahich, CSP executive director, said there were "quite a few designs submitted for consideration." The final choice was the design submitted by Croatian artist Vladimir Novak of Zagreb, Croatia, internationally acclaimed artist and a CPS member. The custom-made photo-etched pin has three colors: red, white and blue soft enamel with clear epoxy coating. the pin is gold plated with a butterfly clutch and is 3/4 of an inch wide. The specially designed logo depicts the American eagle with United States and Croatian coats of arms under the eagle. Under the coat of arms is a trumpet, an international postal symbol, surrounded by a circular postmark-like design with the wording "Croatian Philatelic Society."
